When many people go to rent a car, they look for the best deal they can, at the cheapest price possible.. However, this is becoming more and more difficult due to a number of factors, such as not as many companies to choose from and hidden fees, just to name a few.
Many car rental companies are shutting their doors due to the rough local and global economies. Which drives costumers to the remaining car rental companies. This might sound great, but in reality is a bad effect right now. When car rental companies get more customers they have to get more vehicles which cost money, which is a thing that most companies don’t have extra of right now. This creates a shortage of rental cars for the customers and drives prices up because the companies are trying to make the extra money to buy more vehicles.
Another challenge to finding a low cost rental car is hidden fees that a few rental car companies throw into the customers price. One of the most common hidden fees is what is known as the “Return Time Fee”. Basically when you rent a car, you have to have it back by a certain time. If you don’t then the company charges you an outrages amount for every minute or so you are late. This is sometimes not included in the contract that you sign when renting a car, so it is best to ask.
Just remember to research your best options when renting a car and ask as many questions as you need to before agreeing to anything. If something doesn’t seem right, then just say no and move on to the next company.
